I’m a Holistic Health Coach, Here’s What That Means

In 2016, I completed my health coaching certification via the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN). My official certification is “Certified Holistic Health Coach”. As a holistic health coach, my belief is that all parts of your life contribute to your mental and physical health.

Rather than focusing on one specific symptom or issue, we holistic health coaches focus on addressing the whole. With clients, we address multiple aspects of your life from clean eating to stress management. This is because we know that even though food plays a significant role in your health, the other aspects of your life also have a big impact on how you feel.

In my coaching practice, I focus on helping people make small, sustainable changes that help them reach their individual health goals. As someone who has dealt with gut health issues for 15+ years, I understand the ins and outs of conventional medicine vs. functional medicine, the importance of living a non-toxic lifestyle, and how to make changes that don’t feel overwhelming. I’ve also had to develop a keen sense of self-awareness to intuitively understand & address the signals my body sends to me. This is why I am so happy I went to IIN. And although dealing with my gut health issues has not been super fun, I’m glad I know what I know now, because that means I get to help people like you.

In the meantime, let’s bring awareness to the different aspects of your life that contribute to your overall health & wellness. Scroll below for a quick exercise!

Below is an exercise we learned at IIN that helps to narrow down what areas of our lives may need a little more attention & care.

  1. Spirituality

  2. Creativity

  3. Finances

  4. Career

  5. Education

  6. Health

  7. Physical Activity

  8. Home Cooking

  9. Home Environment

  10. Relationships

  11. Social Life

  12. Joy

Draw a circle and divide into the 12 sections listed above. Place a dot on each line (closer to the middle = dissatisfaction, closer to the edge = satisfaction). Connect the dots and take note of the imbalances. The goal is not to seek perfection but to become aware of what areas of your life need some love.
