Jess Malingowski, Food Freedom Coach

Jess is a Certified Holistic Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition® and owns a health coaching business where she focuses on helping people establish self-care habits that lead to healthy, sustainable lifestyles.  Her coaching programs start with a focus on food freedom and understanding the individuality of our bodies.  Once her clients reach a place of contentment with their food choices, she focuses on other areas of their lives that provide nourishment.  Self-care and self-awareness are Jess’s passions and she enjoys standing alongside people as they journey toward a life of love and peace.

Society tells us we need to find someone who loves us in order to feel complete. Society tells us we need to do more, be more, and have more in order to be successful. I don't think we can have love or success until we completely love ourselves.
-
➡️ Don't get caught up on comparison - it's the thief of joy.
➡️ Love yourself - who you are and who you are becoming.
➡️ Be proud of all that you've accomplished thus far - even though you have other goals you want to achieve.
➡️ Live life the way you want to live it.
➡️ Do what makes you happy.

The weather went back to normal here in NC. No more 70's this week! But I can't wait for spring to finally be here so this scene can happen again.
-
One of my favorite things to do on a Saturday or Sunday is head to the local coffee shop and get sh*t done. Something about being in that environment makes me work so much harder than me sitting in my apartment. Somedays, I order only a coffee. Somedays, I order a coffee AND a cookie.
-
That is the beauty of having NO FOOD RULES. I can have ONE cookie and feel zero guilt OR I can pass on the cookie without feeling like I'm missing out on a treat.
-
When I had all kinds of rules around food, this cookie decision would have been more difficult. Depending on the day, I would have passed on the cookie and then binge ate something sweet when I got home because I felt like I "deserved" to eat some sort of treat for saying no to the cookie. OR I would have ate the cookie and decide to restrict my food the next few days in order to make up for the cookie I ate.
-
Having food rules sucks. It makes food choices harder than they need to be. If we all were more aware of our bodies, I think food choices would be easier to make. If yo u want to become more aware of your body, I invite you to sign up for a free 1-1 session or join my webinar next week! You can find more information on both of these via the link in my bio.

Restricting your food does not do your body any good! Also, skinny does not equal healthy.
-
When you start restrictive eating, your body does not get the proper amount of nutrients it needs to thrive. In fact, you could end up sending your body into starvation mode. When your body is in starvation mode, it thinks that there are no food source readily available. The next time you eat, it wants to eat and eat and eat in order to "stock up" because it does not know when food will be available again. Have you ever had a binge episode that could have been the result of this?
-
Your body is going to be at its healthiest when you stop restricting & stop bingeing. Trying to make your body thinner and thinner is not going to help you achieve optimal health. Optimal health is about being healthy both mentally and physically.
-
Ways that I ensure I am staying healthy mentally:
✨ Meditating every morning
✨ Gratitude journaling
✨ Goal journaling
-
Ways that I ensure I am staying healthy physically:
✨ Resting or exercising depending on how my body feels
✨ Eating home cooked meals AND not home cooked meals
✨ Not having any food rules
-
What is something you can do for yourself today to ensure you are taking care of yourself both mentally and physically?
