It’s the holiday season and unfortunately, this time of year can bring up loads of food anxiety for those who struggle with owning their food choices. Embracing My Cellulite

Over the weekend, I attended a concert with one of my friends that I've known since middle school.  We live in the same town but had not seen each other for over a month!  Needless to say, I was excited to catch up with her.  It was a normal North Carolina summer day with temperatures in the 90's so I decided to rock the jean shorts.  Before the concert, we had our picture taken (obvi) and as I was scrolling through, I immediately noticed the cellulite on the front of my legs.

My Body Has Changed

A week before my beach vacation, I found myself judging my body.  As my life and priorities change, so does my body - and I am learning how to be okay with that.  My body used to be stronger and more in shape when my schedule was lighter and even more so when I restricted food.  While I was going through this judgement cycle, a friend reached out to me to discuss the same exact issue.  She was also preparing for a beach vacation and did not feel good about her body.  We exchanged things we were struggling with and both agreed that we were being too hard on ourselves.

Finding Peace

Over the last six years, I've witnessed my body go through many different phases.  When I first graduated college, I was working out constantly and eating "clean" - then I moved into a phase of life where binge eating took over - and now I'm finally at a place where food is no longer the enemy.  With all of these changes in my behavior came changes in my body's appearance and I've had to learn how to accept my body at every phase of life.
