Accepting your body as is can prove to be a very difficult task. I understand that a lot of you have goals to lose weight for health reasons and to simply feel better. As you journey towards feeling healthier and more energized, I want you to also journey towards body love.
Body love is important because throughout our lives, our bodies will continue to change.
For a few years, you might have a job that allows you to have a flexible schedule and in turn, you have more time to prep meals and go to the gym. During a different phase of life, you might have a very demanding job that leaves you less free time. You might want to have a baby at some point. One year, you might choose to travel abroad and experience a different culture. The point is that all of these things will have an effect on your schedule and how you ultimately live your day-to-day life.
As your day-to-day life changes, your body will also change. My body has changed so much over the past few years simply because of changes in my life. My workout schedule and the food I choose to eat has changed so much over the past few years. These changes have affected the way my body looks and I've slowly learned to embrace it at every phase of life.
I fully support wanting to lose weight for health reasons and to simply feel good. I want you to feel more energized, less bloated, and stronger. As you become these things, my hope is that you also embrace your body. It doesn't matter your shape or size, you are always beautiful. Diet culture and society like to tell us that beauty equates to a flat stomach, a perky butt, and no cellulite. Work to get rid of those thoughts that culture fills your mind with and you will be confident no matter what life throws at you.
