Food Freedom = Happiness

If you take a look at my Instagram, you will see that I preach food freedom and body love 24/7.  I love inspiring women to become more confident so they can achieve the dreams they have for themselves.  It is important to have both of these things in order to thrive in this life.  Today, I'm going to talk about why it is important to discover YOUR food freedom.

First, let me define what I mean when I say food freedom.  Food freedom has absolutely nothing to do with a diet.  Food freedom is YOU owning YOUR food choices and NOT feeling guilty about anything related to food.

I see all types of diets out there preaching their so called "food freedom", meanwhile you still have to follow their rules (so confusing).  How is it food freedom if there are pages upon pages of foods that you "should" avoid?

Food freedom (the real kind) is about you choosing to eat food that you actually want to eat, not food that you feel like you have to eat.  Everyone's food freedom will look different because everyone's bodies are different.  One person might be sensitive to dairy - so instead of eating dairy every day, they choose to eat it every once in a while so that they can still enjoy their favorite dairy treat.

Even if you do not have a sensitivity to any particular food, you might be craving certain foods one week and different foods the next.  When you have food freedom, you listen to those cravings and honor those cravings without feeling guilty.  Your body is super freaking smart and it is important to listen to the messages that it is telling you.  You do not need a diet book to tell you what or when to eat - your body already knows.

Why is having food freedom essential to your happiness?  With food freedom, you no longer have to think about diet or food rules.  You clear your mind of calories, macronutrients, portion sizes, and point systems.  This allows more room in your mind for other, more important matters.  It makes room in your mind for you to think about your passions, your relationships, your career, your self-care, etc.

Food freedom equals happiness because you no longer have to live your life in fear of the food on your plate.  Instead of turning down that job or that travel opportunity, you can go do it because food anxiety is no longer holding you back.

When I found MY food freedom, I started stepping out of my comfort zone and started actually living my life.  Let me help you find yours - contact me at contact@jessmal.com to set up a FREE Discovering Food Freedom Session.
