Living In The Flow

The only quote that can describe my week last week is: "Well, that didn't go as planned."  A series of minor events happened last week that made me reevaluate my long-term goals and actions on how to get there.  The Universe is funny that way, you think you have it all figured out, and then BAM.  The Universe sends you something and you have nothing left to do but step back and let go.

I've always struggled with completely letting go of my plans and letting the Universe take over.  I think it is 100% okay to have goals to work towards and being stubborn about them, but I am learning that the journey towards them can and will be shifted.  And that's okay.  We have to be okay with letting go of what plans we thought we had and allow the Universe to work in our lives.  When we let go and listen to the Universe, we end up exactly where we need to be.  It might not be where we thought we were going to be, but that's the beauty of having faith.  You will be put somewhere for a reason.

I'm personally still trying to reflect and reevaluate the goals I have and how to get there.  Here are some tools I am using to help me live in the flow:

1.  Meditating

- When I need to shut out the world, I go straight to meditating.  I have a few songs that I meditate to when I'm feeling caught in a negative energy or when I need to check in with my intuition.  The current songs I am loving for a quick meditation are listed below.  The first song is a Kundalini meditation that allows me to quiet my mind and let my intuition take over.  The others are positive songs that help boost my mood when I am feeling negative.

Ek Ong Kar Sat Gur Prasad by Jap Hari Kaur

Strawberry Swing by Coldplay

Higher Love by James Vincent McMorrow

Sweet Disposition by The Temper Trap

2.  Journaling

- Writing is super helpful for me.  Physically writing out my feelings makes me more aware of what is going on in my heart and mind.  Once I am able to reflect on these words, I am able to take actions that will address these issues rather than ignore them.  If you aren't a writer, I encourage you to draw out your feelings.  If you are looking to make a decision, it would be a good idea to write out a pros and cons list for each option.

3.  Reading

- I am a self-help book junkie.  Seriously, most of my books are all about bettering yourself in different areas of life.  I encourage you to pick up a book about something that you've been struggling with.  If you are struggling with finances, find a book about money.  If you are struggling with healing your gut, buy a book by a functional medicine doctor that helps you understand what could be wrong.  There are so many helpful books out there that can help you with whatever issue you are having.

If you feel lost or feel annoyed that your plan isn't working, don't worry.  We've all been there.  Don't get down in the dumps about it, though.  Listen to your assignment and face it with great intention.  You may not know right now why the Universe is giving you this detour, but eventually you will and it will all make total sense.

With love and peace,

Jess
