In My Grocery Cart

Today's post is dedicated to anyone who loves grocery shopping as much as I do.  For real, I love grocery shopping and I make it a point to go at least once a week (more if I run out of necessities like eggs...or let's be real, chocolate).

I know most people are not a huge fan of grocery shopping and I think it's because we overthink it.  The diet (I hate the word diet, by the way) world floods our brains with information on what to eat and what not to eat.  Needless to say, we go to the grocery store thinking about this information that is thrown at us and we are unsure of what to even buy.

I wanted to help by giving a  quick rundown of what I put in my cart for this upcoming week so you can see how simple grocery shopping actually can be!

Side note : Before I go grocery shopping, the most important thing I bring with me is my grocery list.  This helps me stay within my budget and I do not have to walk around the store aimlessly putting items into my cart.  Because of this, my grocery store trips are 20 minutes long (30 max).  Ain't nobody got time to be in the grocery store for longer than that.

Here is what was in my cart this past weekend:

Fruit = bananas, apples, pineapples, strawberries, lemons, limes

Vegetables = spinach, green beans, snap peas, avocados (duh), carrots, sweet potatoes, zucchini

Snacks = walnuts, almond butter, sunflower seeds

Randoms = almond milk, eggs, salmon, red wine vinegar

Some weeks look different than others but this is a pretty accurate picture of what is in my cart on the regular.  Items that I don't have to purchase every week include almonds, plantain chips, hummus, salsa, dark chocolate, chia seeds, flax seeds, rolled oats, coconut oil, olive oil, pasta sauce, quinoa, spices, and tea.

Don't make grocery shopping a stressful, dreaded activity.  Cook simple meals using simple ingredients and stop overthinking it!  Fill your cart with quality food that you are going to enjoy.  Heck, you could even use this list for your next grocery store run!  Enjoy your Monday and happy grocery shopping!

With love and peace,

Jess
